Smoke Detectors & Humidity

Smoke Detectors

Sometimes, smoke detectors are unable to distinguish between smoke particles and heavy moisture content in the air.

Feel free to contact us or check out our Help-Center.If there is high humidity, there's a chance these heavy water particles are triggering your fire alarm. Steam can have the same effect on the alarm.

It is best to have air conditioning on during periods of heat and high humidity. The number one reason the smoke detectors have gone off randomly is due to the windows being open on days when the humidity is extremely high.

Press the test button to silence the alarm - Never "disable" an alarm!

If one of the smoke detectors begins to "chirp" - please let me know right away!
